Co-op City Tennis Club founder

In Memory of Milton Alexander

Milton Alexander who was known as "Uncle Milty" to hundreds of Co-op City youngsters, died, 11/10/09 at the Albert Einstein Medical Center from a sudden heart attack.
Milton Alexander who worked for the Texaco Oil Company prior to his retirement, devoted the last 27 years of his life to his beloved Co-op City Tennis Club. Which he and his wife Lorraine, founded in 1982. Lorraine herself a breast-cancer survivor, could barely contain the sense of deep grief that she felt for her husband. "My husband gave a good portion of his life for this Community." Lorraine said; "He was my beloved partner for more than two decades, and life will never be the same without him. I will never forget the wonderful memories that we have shared over the years."
He was an important Father figure who young people in Co-op City could look up to. He was someone who cared deeply about young people. He was always there to lend a helping hand. The Tennis Club has openned up opportunities for college scholarships for scores of young people in Co-op City. Many of whom might never have had a chance to attend college without the help they got in paying there tuition. He will be truly missed.
